PRELIMINARY

Challenging Sensor-Gateway Locations

In this scenario, a chain link fence is

between the Sensor and the Gateway. A

metal fence will significantly reduce the

radio range. It is better to place the tank

with Sensor on the other side of the

fence or place a router in a location

possibly over the fence.

This scenario will also reduce the

effective radio range. Place wall routers

between the 2 points or place the

Gateway closer to the storage tanks. The

radio signals here can bounce away from

the Sensor due to the building with a

metal roof.
